Close to the Mt Vernon Cultural District, with easy access to opera, symphony, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland Institute College of Art, the University of Baltimore, Peabody Institute, and many interesting restaurants, (running the gamut from neat little ethnic "holes in the wall" to four-star dining) theaters (film and live), several world class museums. Five minutes or less to Pennsylvania Station and its AMTRAK, MARC, Light Rail connections. Two and a half blocks to the Mt Royal Light Rail stop.
Baltimore's Inner Harbor, with its many attractions, is a 5 to 10 minute drive, or a short Light Rail ride away. The National Aquarium, the Maryland Science Center and the newly restored USS Constellation, last all-sail warship built by he United States, are all within the inner harbor. Little Italy, home of many excellent restaurants of all price ranges, historic Fells Point and its neat shops, and restored Fort McHenry, birth place of the national Anthem and a "must see" for history buffs, are all within a short distance of the Inner Harbor. All are accessible via water taxi. Highly recommended on any day the weather permits. Camden Yards, home of the Orioles and the pro-football stadium, home of the Ravens, and the Convention Center are short Light Rail rides away. DC is an hour way by either Amtrak or MARC. |
