Directions

If coming by rail: Home is located five blocks northwest of Pennsylvania Station. (Penn Station). The rail goes both to Washington DC and to the airport, as well as connects to entire AMTRAK system. We can pick you up there if you are coming by rail (AMTRAK / MARC / LIGHT RAIL), and we know when to expect you.

Via car from north of Baltimore

If coming down Interstate 95, (If coming down 83, start at #2.)
  1. Turn West on 695, the Baltimore Beltway. Proceed 7 miles to Freeway 83 (Jones Falls Expressway) SOUTH, which is 1 mile past 83 North.
  2. Turn South of Freeway 83 and Proceed on 83 for 6 miles, to Exit 6.
  3. Get off at Exit 6, and turn right (west) onto North Ave. Go one block to Park Ave. (Traffic light).
  4. Turn right (north) on Parke Ave. Go three blocks to Newington. (One block past Stop sign.)
  5. Turn right (east) onto Newington. It dead ends into Mt. Royal Terrace after one short block.
  6. Turn right again onto Mt. Royal Terrace, which runs one-way south next to freeway. 2100 is last home at the end of long block, which only has houses on the right
Note: Entrance is actually around the corner on Reservoir St., but there is always nuch more parking on Mt. Royal Terrance.

(This way is about five miles further than the way found in Map Quest, which takes you through the center of the city. This way is at least 15 minutes faster, and there is much less chance of getting lost.)

Hint: Freeway 83 (Jones Falls Expwy) runs north/south through the center of the city from the Inner Harbor to the beltway, and then after a 1/4 mile jog, on into Pennsylvania.

Via car if coming from BWI Airport or from the south:

Take 95 North to Martin Luther Blvd. Proceed up MLK for 3 miles
  1. Turn left on Eutaw. (At the 7 story State office complex.) Proceed 4 Blocks to Layfette.
  2. Turn Right onto Layfette and Proceed 3 blocks to Park Ave.
  3. Turn left onto Park. Proceed up Park Ave. 3 and a half shortish blocks to North Avenue.
  4. Cross North Ave., a five lane street, with a light, and go three blocks to Newington, which is one block past a stop sign at the foot of a hill.
  5. Turn right (east). Go one short block and turn right again onto Mt. Toyal Terrace, which runs one-way south next to Freeway 83. 2100 is last home at the end of long block.
    Note: Entrance is actually around corner on Reservoir St., but there is always much more parking on Mt. Royal Terrance.
Note: If coming by cab: Come up Park Ave. only 2 blocks from North Ave., and turn right at stop sign onto Reservoir. Wilson House is last house on left. (Cabs do not need parking.)

Via car if coming from West: (Route 70)

  1. Follow Route 70 to End at "Park and Ride".
  2. Turn left onto Cooke's Lane. Proceed up Cooke's Lane 1 mile to Edmundson Ave.
  3. Turn Left (east) onto Edmundson Ave. Proceed 2.5 miles (?) to Hilton Pkwy.
  4. Turn Right onto Hilton Pkwy (it button hooks around to have you traveling north).
  5. Proceed up Hilton Pkwy 1 mile. It is an expressway in a park, but ends after about a mile.
  6. Turn right at first light, North Ave. Go three miles to Park Ave.
  7. Turn left onto Park Ave.
  8. Proceed up Park Ave. 3 blocks to Newington.
  9. Turn right (east) on Newington. Go one short block and turn right again onto Mt. Royal Terrace, which runs one-way south next to Freeway 83.
  10. 2100 is last home at the end of long block.
